The Lucerne Valley Mustangs can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They strolled past Summit Leadership Academy with points to spare, taking the game 44-30. The win was just what Lucerne Valley needed coming off of a 47-24 loss in their prior game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lucerne Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Derrick Tyler, who scored 21 points along with 4 steals. Tyler is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Navarro, who scored 5 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
Lucerne Valley's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Summit Leadership Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Lucerne Valley will head out on the road to face off against Academy of Careers & Exploration at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Summit Leadership Academy, they will be playing at home against Excelsior Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Excelsior Charter is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
