The Chase County Longhorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gering. Chase County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Gering apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gering to victory, but perhaps none more so than Neveah Hrasky, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jacey Cochran, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Chase County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Gering, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14.
Chase County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hitchcock County at 5:30 p.m. Hitchcock County is coming into the contest with three straight victories on the road, meaning Chase County will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Gering, they will face off against Mitchell at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gering is facing Mitchell at the right time seeing as Mitchell is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
