Buena Vista is 6-1 against Monte Vista since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Demons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 12:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Buena Vista's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Rye. The victory was nothing new for the Demons as they're now sitting on three straight.

Logan Scott was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Knox Reid, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Buena Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .781. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Monte Vista came out on top against Rye on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run seventh inning. The Pirates blew past the Thunderbolts 14-3. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Landon Sanchez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Monte Vista got a massive performance out of Azariah Hurtado, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base. Jakoby Ross was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four RBI and one run.
Monte Vista's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Buena Vista, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Buena Vista has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Monte Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Buena Vista couldn't quite get it done against Monte Vista when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Will the Demons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
