Softball Recap: Littlestown Snags Ninth Victory in Last Ten Games

Littlestown never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Delone Catholic Squires 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbolts, who have now won nine contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Alexis Stonesifer made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ashlynn Gorsuch was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Hannah Barthel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Littlestown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Littlestown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Delone Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.
