The Wilmot Panthers will challenge the Waterford Wolverines on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Wilmot had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Cudahy on Thursday. The Panthers never let the Packers get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Panthers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Chance Ruby and Jackson Price were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Ruby didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Price pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ruby has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Ruby went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Price went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nate Dzierzanowski, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Wilmot is undefeated when Dzierzanowski posts two or more runs, but 7-17 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Watson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Wilmot always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Waterford ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out St. Joseph 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted since May 8th.
Waterford has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Wilmot, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-17.
Wilmot might still be hurting after the 10-2 defeat they got from Waterford when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
