The Midtown Knights will face off against the M.L. King Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Midtown knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully M.L. King likes a good challenge.
Midtown can't be too worried about heading out to take on M.L. King: they just beat Drew at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Midtown came out on top against Drew by a score of 61-48 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly 13 points.

Midtown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hailey Wortmann led the charge by putting up 18 points and eight boards. Wortmann is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last eight games she's played. Cate Barton was another key player, posting five points along with 17 rebounds and seven assists.
Midtown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when M.L. King faced off against Forest Park on Saturday. M.L. King put the hurt on Forest Park with a sharp 31-8 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.
Midtown better focus on containing Jamoney Hayes and Zya Taylor as the pair were huge in M.L. King's win. Hayes posted five points in addition to 11 boards and three steals, while Taylor earned ten points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ka'Leah Gibson, who had seven rebounds.
Midtown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for M.L. King, their record is now 7-20.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Midtown hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 68.5 points per game. It's a different story for M.L. King, though, as they've been averaging only 25 points. The only thing between Midtown and another offensive beatdown is M.L. King. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything came up roses for Midtown against M.L. King in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 74-11 victory. Will Midtown repeat their success, or does M.L. King have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
