It was a good run, but the Brookfield Academy Blue Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were the victim of a rough 60-39 defeat at the hands of Dominican. Brookfield Academy has not had much luck with Dominican recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Loss or not, Brookfield Academy got some senior leadership from Amelia Rigel who scored 20 points and Luci Jensen who scored 13 points. Rigel is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played.
Brookfield Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Dominican, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Brookfield Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Living Word Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Living Word Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Brookfield Academy likes a good challenge. Dominican will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against The Prairie School at 4:00 p.m. on January 20th.
