Softball Recap: Bishop Union Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

With a playoff win on the line, Bishop Union rose to the challenge on Friday. They never let the Legacy Christian Academy Lions get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Sienna Fuller was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Bishop Union let Faye Spoonhunter and Cambrie Lanphear run wild. Spoonhunter went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Lanphear went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Spoonhunter is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydee Momberg, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Bishop Union was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .433 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Bishop Union has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Coming up, Bishop Union will welcome Roosevelt at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rough Riders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Broncos surely won't give up without a fight. Legacy Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
