Bernstein put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the University Trojans by a score of 71-64.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abdallah Shami, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 21 rebounds. Shami is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last five games he's played. Nader Chalan was another key player, going 5-for-12 to rack up 12 points and three steals.
Bernstein's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for University, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Bernstein will face off against Mendez at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will give the Dragons their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for University, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Savanna at 7:30 p.m. on the 9th.
