The Lovejoy Wildcats lost against the Wayne City Indians back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Lovejoy received a tough blow as they fell 59-45 to Wayne City.
Wayne City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tanner McNeil out in front who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of James Walker, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Lovejoy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-3. As for Wayne City, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.
Lovejoy will take on Griggsville-Perry in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at. Wayne City will be home for the holidays to greet Red Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
