The Scotland County Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 63-47 victory over Fayette. The victory was nothing new for Scotland County as they're now sitting on five straight.
Fayette's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleb Friebe, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Carter Vroman was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Fayette were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Scotland County's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Fayette, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scotland County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Harrisburg at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Fayette will be home for the holidays to greet Paris at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Paris and Fayette are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
