Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Assumption should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They take on Xavier at 7:00 PM. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Assumption was the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. Everything went their way against Wahlert last Thursday as the squad secured a 37-0 win.
Meanwhile, Xavier were fully in charge, breezing past Decorah-North Winneshiek 45-3. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 24-3.
Their wins bumped Assumption to 1-1 and Xavier to 2-0. Keep an eye on the score for this one : both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up.
