It was a proper cat-fight when Lawrence County duked it out with McComb on Tuesday. Lawrence County was the clear victor by a 20-1 margin over McComb. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Weston Dunaway made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has become a key player for Lawrence County: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 4-7 otherwise. Dunaway was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Lawrence County got a massive performance out of Noah Brabham, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Brabham a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was LaFreddrick Harris, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Lawrence County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Raymond fell victim to Richland and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 17-0 to Richland. The defeat continues a trend for Raymond in their meetings with Richland: they've now lost eight in a row.
Raymond saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlton Davis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Lawrence County's record now sits at 7-8. As for Raymond, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Raymond's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lawrence County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. It's a different story for Raymond, though, as they've only averaged .221. Will they be able to contain Lawrence County's hitters?
Everything went Lawrence County's way against Raymond in their previous meeting last Tuesday, as Lawrence County made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lawrence County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
