Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Bristol's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Bristol had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-run drubbing they dealt Lordstown on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Red Devils a 20-0 shutout. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Croc Thorp was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Bristol is 8-1 when Thorp posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Kohler, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Bristol has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lordstown, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bristol will square off against Heartland Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lordstown, they will face off against St. John at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fighting Herald have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season.
