The Wetumpka Indians will face off against the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Stanhope Elmore will be up against a hot Wetumpka squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Indians took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 41-6 win over Park Crossing. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for the Indians this season.
Wetumpka's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Charles Skipper led the charge by throwing for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Skipper has become a key player for the Indians: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Jordan Smoke helped Skipper out on the ground, rushing for 75 yards and one score on only ten carries.
Wetumpka's run defense was locked in: Park Crossing could only muster 2.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Walter Myrick for the heroic effort on defense: he. Wetumpka didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.1.

Wetumpka's defense didn't let the opposing QB, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Myrick and Keiland Thompson, who racked up five sacks between them. Myrick has been hot for a while, having also posted six or more total tackles the last 14 times he's played. Bobo Browning was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making five total tackles.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stanhope Elmore). They put the hurt on Rehobeth with a sharp 47-26 victory on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-6.
Stanhope Elmore didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Joidaden Carter-Stone. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 19.
Wetumpka's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Stanhope Elmore, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-3.
Wetumpka strolled past Stanhope Elmore in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 27-13. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
