In what's become a running theme this season, the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They put the hurt on Legion Collegiate Academy with a sharp 51-31 victory. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-5.
Despite the loss, Legion Collegiate Academy saw an underclassman step up: Jaylen McMurray scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. McMurray hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Garvin, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Rabun Gap-Nacoochee's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-9. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Rabun Gap-Nacoochee will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the War Eagles at 2:00 p.m. Gray Collegiate Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against the Thunder at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Charlotte T focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Tuesday.
