The Lubbock Westerners lost against the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Lubbock took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lubbock-Cooper. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lubbock in their matchups with Lubbock-Cooper: they've now lost seven in a row.
Lubbock's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6-2. As for Lubbock-Cooper, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lubbock will challenge Abilene at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lubbock's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Lubbock-Cooper, they will head out on the road to face off against Coronado at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
