After flying high against the Leakey Eagles last Tuesday, the Medina Bobcats came back down to earth. Medina fell 65-54 to Rocksprings on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Medina can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1452nd, while Rocksprings is ranked 643rd).
Rocksprings' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Roy Estrada, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and three steals.
Medina's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Rocksprings, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing D'Hanis the next time they take the court. Medina will host D'Hanis at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, while Rocksprings will head out to face them at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
