Baseball Recap: Western Hills Takes a Loss

Western Hills lost against Mercer County back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wolverines took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans.

Noah Morris made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Western Hills is 10-1 when Morris posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Owen Woodson, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Western Hills' defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Mercer County, their record is now 19-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western Hills will face off against Carroll County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Mercer County, they will take on Washington County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
