Basketball Game Preview: Vista del Lago Ravens vs. Jurupa Valley Jaguars

The Vista del Lago Ravens will take on the Jurupa Valley Jaguars in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jurupa Valley took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Vista del Lago, who comes in off a win.

Vista del Lago is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 59-47 victory over California School for the Deaf-Riverside on Wednesday.

Vista del Lago found their leader in sophomore Ja'Marion Jackson, who went 11 for 25 on his way to 27 points and six rebounds. With that strong performance, Jackson is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Malik Morris was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven assists and seven boards.

Vista del Lago smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Jurupa Valley might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Fontana an easy 70-49 win. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1051st, while the Steelers are ranked 219th).

Jurupa Valley dropped their record down to 3-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Vista del Lago, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Things could have been worse for Vista del Lago, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-32 loss to Jurupa Valley in their previous meeting two weeks ago.
