Central Catholic waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Central Catholic Buttons who were credited with the victory. The Central Catholic Buttons got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the St. Michael's Warriors's three. Given the Buttons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Warriors are ranked 163rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Central Catholic's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for St. Michael's, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4-2.

Coincidentally, Central Catholic and St. Michael's will both be playing TMI-Episcopal the next time they take the pitch. St. Michael's will head out to face TMI-Episcopal at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Central Catholic will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
