The D'Evelyn Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Colorado Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for D'Evelyn in their matchups with Colorado Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Defeat or not, D'Evelyn got some senior leadership from Robby Ziemian who scored 20 points and Taj Kumar who scored 14 points. Ziemian scored a full 40.8% of D'Evelyn's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Colorado Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than George Buyers, who scored 19 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Simeon Woldeyohannes, who scored 12 points along with 7 steals and 5 assists.
D'Evelyn bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Colorado Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
D'Evelyn will stay at home for another game and welcome Gunnison at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. Colorado Academy is on the road again on Thursday and play against Grand Junction Central at 8:15 p.m. on December 7th. One thing working in Grand Junction Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
