The Pine Knights can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They breezed by NSU University at home to the tune of 69-36. The win was nothing new for Pine as they're now sitting on four straight.
Emily Shirk continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 36 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Pine's points. Aspen Schellenberg was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
NSU University's loss came despite strong showings from Tatum Billie and Giselle Grant. Billie scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Grant scored 17 points along with two steals. That was a full 41.7% of NSU University's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
NSU University struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Pine pulled down 24 offensive rebounds.
Pine pushed their record up to 17-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for NSU University, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.
Pine will stay at home for another game and welcome the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Jupiter Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Monday. As for NSU University, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Lions at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Chaminade-Madonna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 612th, while the Sharks are ranked 290th).
