Baseball Recap: Shorewood Wins Going Away Against Cedarburg

In Saturday's Canine Competition, Shorewood prevailed. They blew past the Cedarburg Bulldogs 12-4 on Saturday. The Greyhounds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Braylen White made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Shorewood's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 7-2 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Owen McLellan, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged three or more in each of the last three games he's played. Yanni Douros was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Shorewood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cedarburg only managed seven hits.

Shorewood's record now sits at 10-6. As for Cedarburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shorewood will welcome South Milwaukee at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedarburg, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Whitefish Bay at 4:45 p.m.
