It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Wiggins Tigers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They secured a 60-56 W over Briggsdale. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Among those leading the charge was Jr Meyer, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Adams, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Briggsdale still got an impressive performance from Tanner Fiscus, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 64.3% of Briggsdale's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Wiggins' win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Briggsdale, they have fallen quite a ways from their 14-7 record last season and are now at 3-7.
Wiggins won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Heritage Christian at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th. Heritage Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 414 points over their last six contests. As for Briggsdale, they will be playing at home against Otis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Otis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
