If the Crawford County Eagles were feeling good  off their  86-30 takedown of the Furlow Charter School Falcons last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Crawford County lost to Stratford Academy at home  by a decisive  56-37 margin on Monday. While losing is never fun, Crawford County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings  (they are ranked 517th, while Stratford Academy is ranked 193rd).
 When it comes to explaining why Crawford County lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Mareo Slaton. Despite the final result, he  dropped  a double-double on 17 points and 17  rebounds. The  match was  Slaton's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jamahl Willis, who  scored four points along with ten  rebounds.
 Stratford Academy's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Jarvis Smith ii, who  scored 16 points along with seven  rebounds. The  match was  Smith ii's ninth in a row with at least ten points.  Grant Matson was another key contributor,  scoring ten points along with eight  rebounds and four  blocks.
 Crawford County has  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost five of their last six contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Stratford Academy,  the  victory  makes it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 6-3.
 Crawford County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Marion County at 8:00  p.m.  on December 28th. Stratford Academy will be home for the holidays to greet  Tiftarea Academy at 7:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Tiftarea Academy is hoping to put an end to  a three-game streak of away losses.
