The Berean Academy Warriors lost against the Classical Saints back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Berean Academy took a 40-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Classical. While losing is never fun, Berean Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Classical is ranked 36th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Classical to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniel Young, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Sam Wilkey was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Berean Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Classical, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Berean Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Trinity on January 5, 2024. After both having extra time off, Classical and Flinthills will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
