The Fairwinds Christian Knights struggled with assists on Friday (the Greenwood Mennonite Flames had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Fairwinds Christian had to suffer through a rough 49-9 loss at the hands of the Flames. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Fairwinds Christian has scored all season.
Greenwood Mennonite had a senior duo take command as Faith Troyer scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals and Laci Mast scored 12 points along with eight steals. Mast is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nona Wright, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Fairwinds Christian and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Greenwood Mennonite, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Fairwinds Christian will square off against the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Chestertown Christian Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Greenwood Mennonite, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Faith Baptist School: 24.5, the Flames: 20.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
