The Southwood Knights were the 67-56 winner over the Wabash Apaches when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Southwood took a 59-41 bruising from Wabash on Friday.
Southwood's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Griffin Chambers, who scored 14 points along with 3 steals. Bryce Wilcox was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Wabash was led to victory by Izaak Wright and Trevor Daughtry. Wright scored 19 points, while Daughtry scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wright has scored at least 25% of Wabash's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Ford, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
Southwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Wabash, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Southwood will head out on the road to face off against Peru at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Peru focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Wabash, they will play host again and welcome Maconaquah, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
