They took a 24-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chicago Military Academy. Back of the Yards College Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chicago Military Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Marlen Hernandez and Nysiara Roby certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Hernandez scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Roby scored two points along with 16 rebounds. Those 16 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Roby.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Back of the Yards College Prep struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Leading Chicago Military Academy to victory were Adamaris Cardoso and Taylor Jackson. Cardoso scored eight points, while Jackson scored ten points. The matchup was Jackson's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Back of the Yards College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Chicago Military Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.
Back of the Yards College Prep will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Dunbar at 5:00 p.m. Dunbar is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Chicago Military Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Bogan at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
