Piedmont Hills is 7-0 against Ann Sobrato since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Piedmont Hills Pirates will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Ann Sobrato Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Harker scored an imposing 66 points on Friday, Piedmont Hills still came out on top. Piedmont Hills snuck past Harker with a 72-66 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for Piedmont Hills as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Piedmont Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Subeg Rai, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Rai's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Pham, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ann Sobrato had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against San Jose by a score of 51-39 last Saturday.
The win got Piedmont Hills back to even at 6-6. As for Ann Sobrato, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5.
Everything came up roses for Piedmont Hills against Ann Sobrato in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 62-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Piedmont Hills since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
