In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arnesia Dews, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kersie Elder, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Altavista, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past Cumberland 4-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Colonels as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
William Campbell has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Altavista, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.
William Campbell beat Altavista 7-2 in their previous meeting on May 2nd. Do the Generals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colonels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
