Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Pike County Bulldogs walked away with it. They breezed by the Bobcats on the road to the tune of 79-45 on Thursday. Pike County's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Opp's loss came despite strong showings from Dorian Harris and Reed Adams. Harris scored 14 points along with five rebounds, while Adams scored seven points along with six rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Smith, who scored seven points.
The win was the third in a row for Pike County, bringing their record for this year to 11-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Opp, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-24.
Pike County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Opp, they will head out on the road to challenge Cottage Hill Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Opp will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 413th, while Cottage Hill Christian Academy is ranked 82nd).
