The Tenino Beavers will head out on the road to take on the North Thurston Rams at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Tenino came out on top against Hoquiam on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 13-run second inning. The Beavers blew past the Grizzlies 15-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Beavers considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Mikey Vassar made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other pitching news, Zeke Haskins looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Will Feltus was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Chris Butcher also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Tenino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, North Thurston entered their tilt with Lincoln on Wednesday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They put the hurt on the Abes with a sharp 14-1 win.
Ethan Shaefer made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Shaefer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Grady Wright was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Tucker Kemph was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
North Thurston pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Tenino, their record is now 14-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Tenino has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like North Thurston struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
