The Vienna Eagles waltzed into their game Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They were the clear victor by a 67-46 margin over Bourbon. Given Vienna's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Bourbon is ranked 451st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vienna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cash Stricklan, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. The game was Stricklan's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Elias Miller was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight assists.
Vienna has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Bourbon, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Vienna will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley on Friday. One thing working in Valley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games. As for Bourbon, they will square off against Liberty Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Liberty Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Wednesday.
