After flying high against the Washington Pam Pack last Friday, The North Pitt Panthers came back down to earth. North Pitt fell 50-38 to West Craven on Thursday. Despite 149 more yards than West Craven, North Pitt couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Juhron Clemmons, who gained 309 total yards. Clemmons was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Famous Wilson, who threw for 285 yards and four touchdowns.
West Craven's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but DJ Davis led the charge by throwing for 235 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes. Malik Brown was in the mix too, providing West Craven with three touchdowns.
North Pitt's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for West Craven, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
