Hazel Green has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Huntsville Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 42-7, which was the final score in Hazel Green's tilt against Arab on Friday. Hazel Green was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Meanwhile, Huntsville took a serious blow against Austin on Friday, falling 52-25. While losing is never fun, Huntsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Austin is ranked 25th).
Despite the defeat, Huntsville got a solid performance out of Jacks Mcclung, who threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Lawson Neighbors was in the mix too, providing Huntsville with two touchdowns.
Hazel Green's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. As for Huntsville, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Hazel Green took a serious blow against Huntsville in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 63-7. Can Hazel Green avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
