Cobden extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 9-5 in the process. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Dongola Demons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-8 back in April.
Abby Pitts made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Alivia Kilpatrick and Natalie Franklin did most of the damage at the plate: Kilpatrick went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Franklin went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Kilpatrick a new career-high.
