The Woodbury Royals will take on the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Woodbury 3.9, Cretin-Derham Hall 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Woodbury took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against St. Anthony Village as they made off with a 10-3 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Royals' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Kate Rapp was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Woodbury got a big performance out of Annabelle Arneson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave Arneson a new career-high. Natalie Meeder was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Woodbury kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Cretin-Derham Hall beat Mounds View 7-2 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won eight in a row.
The team relied heavily on Maddie Mulcahy, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Woodbury's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Cretin-Derham Hall, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Woodbury was able to grind out a solid win over Cretin-Derham Hall in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 4-1. Do the Royals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
