The Meade Buffaloes had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against Ingalls by a score of 56-46. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Meade also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Meade got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sayler Stapleton out in front who scored 22 points along with two steals. Stapleton hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Sherman, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Ingalls' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Stein, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 39.1% of Ingalls' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Elly Jo Tancayo was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Meade has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Ingalls, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Meade will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pawnee Heights at 6:30 p.m. As for Ingalls, Ingalls and Spearville will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Spearville is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
