On Thursday, Tempe Prep earned a 34-22 win over North Phoenix Preparatory Academy. The win was just what Tempe Prep needed coming off of a 52-24 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Santa Cruz Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by St. Augustine Catholic on the road and fell 74-27. Santa Cruz Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-11.
Tempe Prep's win bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Santa Cruz Valley, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Tempe Prep against Santa Cruz Valley when the teams last played on January 8th as the squad secured a 46-16 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tempe Prep since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
