After a string of three wins, the Hendersonville Commandos's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 56-41 to Oakland.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oakland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elaura Cox, who scored ten points along with four steals. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Alonna Poole, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Hendersonville's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Oakland, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.
Hendersonville's road trip will continue as they head out to face White House-Heritage at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. White House-Heritage is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. Oakland will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Beech at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
