Having struggled with four losses in a row, Shannon turned things around against Mantachie on Friday. Everything went their way against the Mustangs as they made off with a 17-9 win. Considering the Red Raiders have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Shannon got a big performance out of Jacob Mullins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Mullins has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zach Davis, who scored two runs while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Saltillo won against Ripley on Friday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. Saltillo came out on top against North Pontotoc by a score of 8-5. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.
BAYLOR ROBERTS was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of DAWSON ARRIOLA, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
The victory got Shannon back to even at 5-5. As for Saltillo, their record now sits at 3-4.
