District 10 Region 6 AAA recap Oct. 16, 2012
Cathedral Prep extended the longest winning streak in District 10 Region 6 AAA this week by beating Aquinas Institute, 34-9. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Ramblers.
General McLane moved up to 145 from 199 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lancers climbed the ranks as a result of beating Bradford 42-22.
Cathedral Prep's dynamic duo of Damion Terry and Brendan Klemensic proved tough for the Little Irish to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Terry threw for 352 yards and two touchdowns and Klemensic had 120 yards receiving. Jake DeHart helped Cathedral Prep's passing attack out by catching six balls for 95 yards.
Aidan Graham was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 102 yards on nine carries as General McLane bested Aquinas Institute. Michael Suminski also contributed to the rushing game with 82 yards on the ground.
The Ramblers' Terry and Klemensic have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading District 10 Region 6 AAA in both passing and receiving yards. Terry has thrown for 1872 yards this season, while Klemensic, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 26 catches for 532 yards. McDowell's James Conner leads the league in rushing yards with 744.
Cathedral Prep's Terry is within 128 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Central Tech.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Ramblers take on the Falcons. At the moment, Cathedral Prep is in first, while Central Tech is in fourth.
