McDermitt is 1-9 against Owyhee since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The McDermitt Bulldogs' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Owyhee Braves at 5:40 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully McDermitt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Saturday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-21, which was the final score in McDermitt's tilt against Lund. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for McDermitt in their matchups with Lund: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, McDermitt had strong showings from Shandon Camas, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and three steals, and AJ Farmer, who scored seven points. Camas is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games he's played.
In what's become a running theme this season, Owyhee gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 79-54 margin over Jackpot. The win was nothing new for Owyhee as they're now sitting on five straight.
Owyhee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bisaapi Melendez out in front who scored 22 points. Melendez continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dishaun George-Smith, who scored 17 points.
McDermitt has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season. As for Owyhee, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Things could have been worse for McDermitt, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-44 loss to Owyhee when the teams last played on Thursday. Can McDermitt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
