Fishers (Ind.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring 14 in the fourth quarter to seal a 38-13 victory over
McCutcheon (Lafayette, Ind.).
After taking the lead on a field goal, the Mavericks went into halftime with a 6-3 lead. Fishers scored the winning points with a touchdown run by
Maurice Campbell that came in the third quarter.
A 21-point third quarter helped FHS secure the big victory. Fishers scored on three rushing touchdowns in the quarter, including two by Campbell.
FHS's standout player in the win was
Connor Christiansen. The junior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
McCutcheon's lone touchdown came on a 2-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Fishers had given up an average of 15.2 points prior to the contest.
FHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 29-23.
The loss comes after McCutcheon defeated Noblesville 26-10 last week. The loss snapped MHS's 2-game winning streak. With the win Fishers extended its winning streak to three games.
