Baseball Recap: Cabrini Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Cabrini was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Our Lady of the Lakes on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Monarchs fell just short of the Lakers by a score of 9-8 on Wednesday. The Monarchs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lakers earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

Cabrini saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Bergdoll, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The Monarchs are 2-1 when Bergdoll posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Brycen Kimes also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Cabrini's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4. As for Our Lady of the Lakes, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

When Cabrini and Our Lady of the Lakes next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Monarchs will take on Greenhills and their four-game winning streak at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Our Lady of the Lakes will try to stop Lutheran Northwest's three-game winning streak when they meet at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
