Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Warren Central walked away with it. They blew past the Center Hill Mustangs 8-1 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Maddox Lynch was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Jacob Kealhofer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Steed, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Warren Central pushed their record up to 18-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Center Hill, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-18.
As of now, neither Warren Central nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
