Despite the defeat, Smith-Cotton got top-tier performance from Piper Cantrell, who had 24 digs. Addison Cooley also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Warrensburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Knob Noster 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.
Warrensburg was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 23-25, 24-26, 25-12, 15-9.
Warrensburg now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Smith-Cotton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5-1.
