The Bear River Bears will take on the Bountiful Redhawks at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bear River will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
On Friday, Bear River needed a bit of extra time to put away Pocatello. They had just enough and edged out the Thunder 8-7.
Broxton Gardner made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Jackson Barfuss was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dallen Rice, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Bear River was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in nine consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Bountiful came up short against Westlake on Saturday, falling 8-2. The Redhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bountiful saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tegan Barnes, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Bear River's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Bountiful, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Bountiful's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bear River hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. It's a different story for Bountiful, though, as they've only averaged .204. Will they be able to contain Bear River's hitters?
Everything went Bear River's way against Bountiful in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Bear River made off with a 16-0 win. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Redhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
